Learning Commons Renovation at the William Rand Kenan, Jr. Library
of Veterinary Medicine
The College of Veterinary Medicine community contributed to the design and furniture selection process for these new learning spaces:
- Six individual study rooms created for independent study and testing
- Multipurpose room for teaching and personal computing created from
previous computer lab
- Large collaborative meeting space with built-in technology replaced
the media center
- Display technology added to veterinary history room for small group
learning activities
- Group study room technology reconfigured and whiteboard walls added
- Cafe-style bench seating with tables added on south wall
- Study carrels replaced and oriented to look out at the cows for stress
relief
- Display screen at entrance will offer snippets of information about resources, services and computer availability
- Mobile whiteboards and technology carts to visualize and brainstorm
